Arisse Tauv is a multifaceted DJ, dancer, teacher, community leader, choreographer, and event producer of TeoChew descent, based on Gadigal Land, Eora Nation. With an 18-year career rooted in street dance, she has honed an ever-evolving style through diverse influences and proudly representing her crews Booyakasha and The Slow Jam at major competitions in New York, Seoul, Taipei, Bali, and Singapore. Alongside her 10 years of teaching experience, Arisse continues to nurture future generations of dancers through classes, workshops, and inclusive programs in schools, universities, and community spaces.

As the President and Director of the non-profit Destructive Steps Dance Association, Arisse collaborates with councils and partners to create impactful youth-focused events, workshops, and initiatives that foster growth within the street dance community. She also serves as Festival Co-Director of Destructive Steps—Australia’s largest street dance festival—now in its 16th year, providing a key platform to elevate street dance culture and showcase emerging talents across Sydney and beyond. Her forays into dance theatre through residencies and developments with organizations such as 4A Contemporary Asian Arts and FORM Dance Projects further demonstrate her dedication to innovation and artistry.

In addition to her leadership and dance endeavors, Arisse has built a thriving DJ career over the past nine years, starting in 2017 in the underground street dance battle scene. Renowned as a resident DJ for iconic events like Ladies Night, Hip Hop Showdown, and Waack Your Way, she skillfully spins R&B, Soul, Hip Hop, Funk, Disco, and Top 40 hits at various private, public, and corporate engagements. Guided by street dance’s core values of collaboration, adaptability, and authenticity, Arisse continues to expand her horizons, ensuring her creative practice remains vibrant and transformative across all her disciplines.
